At SAP, supplier data entered the landscape through Ariba Network and needed reliable synchronisation into internal MDG and CRM systems - with complex country-specific address rules, regional tax and VAT validation, and strict audit requirements. Classic point-to-point integrations offered no business transparency: it was often unclear why a supplier failed processing, who owned the issue, or how urgently it needed resolution. Unnoticed failures led to blocked processes, manual rework, and audit risk.

Codemine designed a custom SAP AIF framework as a central integration governance and business control layer. All supplier messages flow through AIF with every decision traceable and auditable. Structured sub-processes handle mandatory master data checks, country-specific address validation, and tax and VAT plausibility. AIF-controlled value mapping with country-dependent fallback logic separates external Ariba semantics from internal CRM requirements. Standard alerting was enhanced with business-oriented categories, region-based ownership, and targeted HTML notifications.
